Re: Disappointment in KS6 "Stretch Goals" "system" and "freebies"
But the "stretch goal train" is just a shell game. Yes, I get the psychological aspect of people seeing "TWENTY STRETCH GOALS UNLOCKED", but the end result is no different to the consumers and those paying attention if they had 50k SG's and a 100,000 'target', or a 1.1m 'target' ...

Re: Glitterwalls
Maybe I'm mistaken, but I could swear at some point it was said that all of the walls would be glittered/painted for some reason. It's not something I really care about, definitely not enough to go hunting through 1.5 years worth of comments and updates and whatnot, but I was a bit surprised when mi...

Re: Disappointment in KS6 "Stretch Goals" "system" and "freebies"
I agree price per piece is a difficult way to measure, unless you have a standard "piece" and adjsut smaller and larger ones to fit. Yeah, not all pieces are created equal, but at the same time I think it kind of balances out in a lot of cases. If an encounter costs an average of $6 per p...

Re: End Totals
Problem is the Whales would by 10x or 20x these and forego the main line. Me included. TLW Ain't nothin' wrong with this. It'd also clearly indicate that, as much as people love the bling and complexity, that a market exists for just being able to cover square footage on the table. But, to loop aro...

Re: Likes and dislikes
The stretch-goal system is only a marketing gimmick: We know it all the better because we do it ourselves. Today stretch-goals are already included in the campaign financing plan and serve only as an adjustment variable. They are stretched or limited according to the sums collected, but they are ne...

Re: Has DF outgrown Kickstarter as a platform
Add me to the people who don't think it would be in DF's best interest to move away from the KS platform. Kickstarter, and the infrastructure around it (Kicktraq, for example), the security they provide (literal and peace of mind), advertising, providing access to a *potential* customer base in the ...

Re: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Painted request
I always take the prototype pieces to show off what each COULD be, if someone takes substantial time and care to pick out details. The kind of effort a professional might be able to pull off fairly quickly, and that an amateur might get close to, but will take much longer (and lack some of the fancy...

Re: I may buy painted this year. Wait, did I just blaspheme?
I went unpainted in 1 and 5, the latter was an easier choice due to still having paints left over from 1. I think I'll end up going painted in 6 to match my painted pieces in 2 (or, at least hopefully they use a similar enough general colour scheme where applicable). While going unpainted would help...

Re: Is it Just me, or is Anyone Else a Bit Disappointed?
I wouldn't say that I'm completely disappointed, but this is definitely a challenging campaign to wrap ones head around. I ran the numbers, and the basic entry point (Encounter 1) would, including conversion and shipping, run me about $10 Canadian per piece (to go down slightly as stretch goals happ...

Can't complain, the competition is always fierce to get in early, and will presumably remain that way for years and projects to come.
