Here’s their story:

A wood elf and lizardmen army face off in a battle over the heart of the forest. Battle prologue: In the ruins of a fallen redwood, the Heart of the Forest pulsed like a dying ember as its ancient spirit-tree essence called to any who would claim it.

The wood elves answered first. Led by Davan, an ancient Treeman whose bark-flesh groaned with awakening fury, they gathered in silent ranks around the collapsed trunk. The forest stirred with them; leaves whispered, roots shivered, and the air thickened with old power.

But another force had heard the Heartwood’s call.

From the shattered undergrowth thundered a stegodon, its massive form draped in sacred glyphs. Atop it stood Tlazcualli, a Skink Priest blazing with celestial light, his voice ringing like a serpent’s hiss.

“By the Old Ones’ will,” he declared, “this spirit shall serve the Great Plan.”

Davan’s vast shadow fell across the glade.

“Not while I yet stand.”

Root met scale, oath met destiny, as the two armies surged toward the glowing heart of the forest, and the battle for its soul began.
